Default Regina Show and Shine

I am tossing around the idea of puttin on a snowmobile show and shine here in Regina and just lloking for input from you guys. The big problem I am having is finding a venue that can accomodate all the sleds as well as parking for trailers and public spectators. In regina would be good as attendance would be higher but not too sure where to have it. Bathrooms is also another concern. I want to try and keep it very informal, with no entry fee. I was maybe thinking about the 3 Flags race track near Lumsden. They have bathrooms, concession but not sure about how much room they have there.

What do you guys think?

I think that's great that you're trying to do this.

Might I suggest the Highland Curling Club. Only reason I say this is I was at their Tattoo convention last year (they're having it again this year), and thought the space was great. No idea on the cost, but plenty of parking, in lots and side streets, and a wide open indoor space with pretty good lighting. This eliminates the weather factor. lol you'll just need lots of sled dollys!

What about Kings Park Speedway? Or Pilot Butte Rodeo Grounds?

Hey Richard, how is it going? Did you make it to Roblin on the weekend ? Pretty cool wild one sign you found ! The owner at ThunderCity was tossing around the idea of putting on a show as well, so maybe you could talk with him .

Richard, let me know how you make out . Maybe I could help out some how. You could put the bug in the Radisson guy's ears, call Art in Yorkton. What time of year are you thinking ?

Great idea, Richard. Being from Manitoba, I'm not really familiar with the venues near Regina. But I'd sure like to make it down for the show if the date works out for me. Have you considered having it in conjunction with a car show like the guys in Radisson did? I think that worked out quite well and they sorta compliment each other. There should be plenty of car shows near Regina this summer and I would think most small town car show organizers would welcome a bunch of sledheads to their event.

good ideas guys. That is why I posted this. I have some investigating to do.

Beaker, do you have a contact for the PB rodeo grounds? Or maybe the rink at PB or Balgonie?

I was also thinking of maybe getting in touch with the local Lions club or something???

I'm quite familiar with the Lumsden karting track ("3-flags") and, imho, it won't work. I like the idea of a nearby *paved* parking lot at a community rink or hall (the Pilot Butte rink could work actually).

Another option might be my work (SIAST) - lots of paved space, not busy on weekends or summer, and there's a nice linkage with our OPET (powersports repair) program. Let me know if you'd like me to investigate...

Rian, what about access to bathrooms? Fodd is not an issue as all it takes is a phone cal to a plce like smokin okies and they will show up with their trailer. Bathrooms is my concern because I really do not want to have to rent port a john's.
