Default Love ride, trip report

Love Trip Report Feb 19 - 21, 2010

From Regina/Pilot Butte to Love, Sk
- 850km round trip
- left about 7am got to Love at 12:30pm

Truck #1
- Quad cab, 4 place trailer
- $200 diesel or $50/pp

Truck #2

- 3 ppl
- quad cab, 2 place, and one in the bed
- $170 or $57/pp

Cabin
- 2 nights
- 8 people
- $41.66/pp

Catered meals
- 2 suppers, 2 breakfasts
- $36.88/pp

Fuel
- varied, most arrived with sleds full
- average 2-3 fills - between $60 and $90pp total

Grand total = $200 per person

Variables:
- we did stop in Melfort for breaky, about $7 - 12pp

- cabin price included my $200 gift certificate, they also applied the deposits from those who couldn't make it towards the bill, so when it was presented all that remained owing on the cabin was $38.83 total! Divided by 8 equals only $4.85 pp. So our 2 nights total, cost us less than $30 each. Had that certificate not been available, add another $25pp total

- fuel, charged pump price, Reg .97, Premium 1.09 both available at the cabin. Also stopped on the trail once for fuel, I guesstimated that above.

- booze, did a liquor store stop too $10 for me, ymmv

- one truck only had 3 people, so their travel fuel was a little higher.

All in, 3 days sledding in beautiful northern Saskatchewan for less than $300! Unbelievable.

Sledding:

By choice, we did approx 80% tree lined, groomed trails, and followed the river, and about 20% gorgeous 3ft deep soft powder fields

Fri 1pm - 5:30pm, 86km
Sat 9:30 - 6pm, 194km
Sun 10 - 3:30pm, 107km

Total 387 km

Pics posted soon in pic section.

Fuel for our group was $170 total split 3 ways and we were pulling a double trailer with 1 sled in the back. $57 per person.

Thx, so that was pretty much the same as our truck then too.

Oh, and I forgot to add we chipped in and tipped them just over $60 as well.
